It’s finally here (almost)!

taskQu3st v 1.2.0 has been submitted to the App Store for approval with automatic release turned ON.

This release is one of my personally most anticipated. With the usual tweaks and bug fixes we implement in every update, we’ve also spent a full 24 working hours specifically on user interface refinement. This refinement aims to make taskQu3st more intuitive, interactive, and overall better organizationally as well as visually.

At tQ we also focus specifically on user customization as a feature. v 1.2.0 comes with 3 new color customization themes varying from silly and fun to dark and brooding with names like “candy” and “blood”.

In addition to all of these refinements, we’ve also included 5 more language localizations:

  • Brazilian Portuguese (as we received an international download from Brazil)

  • Russian

  • French

  • Italian

  • German

The biggest upgrade with this update is ACHIEVEMENTS! With v 1.2.0, users can now earn pixel art badges. Every badge is unique and drawn by hand in Pixquare on my iPad. The first set with this update features 20 unique badges to collect (17 known and 3 secret). After v 1.2.0, each update will come with a newly added set of badges to earn and collect. Known Badges will be visible with progress tracking to users in the Badge Library accessible from the main hub of taskQu3st by selecting the lightning bolt shield SF Symbol. Secret Badges have earn requirements unbeknownst to the user which makes them extra fun and surprising!

You may have noticed in the Profile Settings or your User Card, there’s a little crown next to the text “Titleless”. Titles are another form of reward within tQ. “Titleless” is our default Title everyone earns by downloading, installing, and opening taskQu3st, but there’s so many more to collect. Each Secret Badge will come with a corresponding Title users can choose to display on their User Card.

Now I know you’re probably thinking, “Why do I have a User Card when taskQu3st is fully local?”

It won’t be local forever! tQ has updates planned for the integration of social aspects including global leaderboards, task collaboration, and more. These updates can only be made a reality with your support. I don’t mean financial support of course, but we will also be adding a shop in future updates allowing users to purchase LevelCoins (in-app currency currently earned by leveling up) to fully deck out your in-app experience.

Basically all’s to say is this: thank you for using taskQu3st. Thank you for believing in something that was only an idea 11 months ago. Thank you for leveling up your life.

Until next time, keep qu3sting!
